DateID is seeking a technical co-founder who’s excited to roll up their sleeves with us and help solve some of online dating’s biggest problems. You don’t need to leave your day job if you have one, but the idea of possibly doing so someday should appeal to you.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll focus primarily on developing our backend architecture. We are building this from the ground up and as the lead engineer, you get to choose the software stacks. You don’t have to be a master of all stacks, as we don’t expect the MVP to be difficult to build. But, you’ll need at least basic proficiency in all back-end stacks required to build it. That includes includes both a web and iOS app, and hopefully Android.
Check out slides 9-16 of our pitch deck and/or view the video below to see what you’d be building backend architecture for.
Skills You’ll Need
- Vision to see how what is built today will scale to millions of users
- Willingness and ability to use the technology that is right for the task at hand
- An understanding of how to integrate a web app with mobile for a seamless experience
- Front-end development skills would be nice, but are not required
Online Dating Experience
Love it or hate it, online dating is something you have to experience to understand — so you’ll need to have tried it or be willing to. We may make exceptions for someone who’s otherwise a very strong candidate.
Like most startups, we’re bootstrapping the MVP and will fundraise once it’s completed and we have some users. You will receive 10-20% equity DOE, and a salary once we have investors.
